Garmin Geko 201 GPS
by Telly Scotchmeyer for Digital Living Today

The Garmin Geko 201 GPS is a bright, light, portable GPS navigation tool. Ideal for hiking, trekking, or other outdoor sports, the Geko is a cell phone-sized, yellow device that has a bright, high contrast, 64x100-pixel display. The batteries last 12 hours on a charge, and five buttons keep everything simple. That being said, the Geko 201 is no amateur. Accurate to within ten feet, the 201 includes a programmable waypoint feature that allows you to insert up to 250 landmarks into the computer as you go. In addition, the 201 can hold 20 routes and 10,000 track points. And if you're eager to just get out and get going, the Geko 201 comes with four preprogrammed interactive outdoor games that help you hone your navigation skills. A user-configurable trip computer can track your time speed and distance during drives, hikes, or bike rides. An external port allows the 201 to exchange information with a PC, and a connector allows it to draw its power externally.
